How much?
AES machines are sophisticated, volume producing machines.  As such the capital investment required has to be matched by existing or planned volume sufficient to reap the benefits of significantly reduced costs per part.  If your production exceeds 2000 joints per month there is a good opportunity for financial savings.

Where in the world can AES machines be found?
We have successful machine installations in countries worldwide including Mexico, USA, Canada, UK, Spain, France and China.

Why do you emphasise 'OE equivalent' in your machine sales literature?
Because our CVJoint grinding machines adopt the OE process of using dressable grinding wheels and creating 'gothic arch' or angular contact track form. Accuracy, repeatability, surface finish and machine construction all meet OE requirements making our machines suitable for manufacturers of new CVJoints as well as CVJoint remanufactures.

What are dressable grinding wheels?
Dressable grinding wheels are made from the latest ceramic abrasive.  Within the machine cycle the wheel shape is reformed at regular intervals using a special dressing disc.  This automatic dressing process restores the wheel shape and exposes new abrasive cutting edges, therefore the cutting characteristics of the grinding wheel remain exactly the same throughout its life.  Additionally, dressable grinding wheels offer a huge cost saving over CBN or Borozon plated grinding wheels.  They are cheaper, last longer and can be quickly restored in the event of 'pick up' or over cutting.

What are the important criteria for regrinding CVJoints?
Reproducing the original joint dimensions is the secret to successful regrinding.  Centreline dimensions are the most critical as they affect the 'offset' which is the difference between the track centreline and the cage centreline.  The offset dimension must be the same in Race and Housing for standard (non UF) joints but are difficult to measure and vary joint to joint and manufacturer to manufacturer.  AES has developed accurate, easy to use gauges for measuring these key dimensions in both Housing and Race components.

What help and advice does AES offer its customers?
AES personnel have wide experience of manufacturing and this is available for any enquiry.  Simply click the Ask A Technical Question link in the Products & Services section.

What do your customers say?
An existing AES customer made the following testimony:
"By replacing our existing CVJoint grinding machines with the HRG2000 from AES Machine Tools, we have reaped the benefits of OEM technology.  We are delighted that the promised improvement in productivity and quality has been realised and this has lead to a considerable increase in sales"
