The Cage Twin window grinder is a high production CNC machine with automatic loading used for grinding the ball contact faces of a CVJoint cage.

Specification
The AES Cage Twin CVJoint window grinder is a 5-axis CNC machine dedicated to the grinding of windows in a CVJ cage. It grinds two windows simultaneously, has automatic loading and uses low cost, dressable grinding wheels able to grind up to 700 cages per wheel set **

 

 

 

 

The main elements of the machine are arranged on a very strong, rigid, steel base, as follows

Grinding Spindles
Two identical, 7.5KW chiller-cooled grinding spindles have infinitely variable speed up to a maximum of 45,000 rpm. They are mounted horizontally, on opposing slideways, to the left and right of the workhead. Each spindle has controlled movement to and from the workhead via its synchronized slideway system (X & Y axes)

Workhead
The workhead is mounted horizontally on a slideway that is 90* and central to the two grinding spindles. The work spindle can index to the three grind positions, oscillate for grinding and rotate at 750 rpm for dressing (C-axis). The workhead slideway gives control of window size and centerline dimensions (Z-axis)

Dresser
A diamond-dressing ring surrounds the workholding fixture. When required, grinding wheels are automatically dressed as they exit the cage windows

Workholding
A rotating cone-locating device is applied to the cage that accommodates all sizes. A drawbar working through the spindle provides failsafe clamping

Automatic Gantry Loader
Full CNC controlled, servo motor driven gantry with twin armed pneumatic grippers working in conjunction with a magazine loader

Auto load magazine holds 12 to 15 cages (depending on diameter), giving 8 to 10 minutes of unattended operation and opportunity for one operator to run two machines

High-pressure (12 bar) temperature controlled (25ºC) mineral oil coolant system, dual cleaned by magnetic separator and pressure bag filter
Machine base is painted with two pack epoxy blue & enclosure stove enamelled grey
Hook-on splash guard for easy access
Optional language CNC and parameter display
